Katherine Eklund

Katherine Eklund is Director of Development at Generation Hope, a nonprofit that surrounds motivated teen parents and their children in the Washington, DC region with the mentors, emotional support, and financial resources that they need to thrive in college and kindergarten, thereby driving a two-generation solution to poverty. She has the opportunity to work with Generation Hope’s incredible partners to build the community of support for Generation Hope Scholars and their families. She manages the strategy and execution of all fundraising areas, including foundation, individual, corporate, and government.

Katherine previously worked at the Aspen Institute, an educational and policy studies organization, where she supported strategic fundraising efforts related to scholarships, capital projects, and new programming. Prior to that, she worked at DC Central Kitchen, a national leader in job training, healthy meal distribution, and social enterprise, where she worked closely with the CEO, Board of Directors, and Development Team to advance the organization’s mission and engage a variety of partners and stakeholders. 

Katherine served as a Board Member for Break Away, a nonprofit that trains, assists, and connects college campuses and communities in developing quality alternative break programs, and worked at The Food Trust in Philadelphia and The New York Community Trust. Katherine is originally from Bucks County, Pennsylvania and received her B.A. in Public Policy from The College of William and Mary. She completed a 9-month leadership development program through Princeton AlumniCorps.
