Shanée Walker is an Events and Professional Learning Coordinator in the Office of School Wellness Programs at the New York City Department of Education.  Shanée provides event planning and logistical support for professional development sessions to guide educators in teaching 1.1 million students what they need to know to make healthy, informed choices now and throughout their lives.

Shanée takes pride in empowering New York City educators, volunteers to meet pressing community needs throughout the five boroughs and has a passion for making a difference. As an advocate for children’s education with over 5 years’ experience in the industry, Shanée believes in dedicating time to each event for a successful outcome and impact, creating a fun, friendly and creative environment, while empowering the families and children who face many challenges when it comes to health and wellness.  Previously, Shanée served as a Senior Manager at New York Cares, where she supervised two of the largest volunteer events in New York City, New York Cares Day for Schools and New York Cares Day Spring, together engaging almost 10,000 New Yorkers in volunteer service throughout the five boroughs.  Shanée is a 2017 American Express Leadership Academy Alum and a 2013 NYC Civic Corps member who values the impact one individual can make on countless others through service.  Shanée holds a BA in Communication Arts, Broadcast and Film from St. Francis College in Brooklyn, New York.
