Ponhrith Kan has had experiences working with development projects through social sector for 20 years, and currently he is the Project Manager for Improving Market Access for the Poor (IMA4P) at VSO Cambodia. He focuses on the holistic approaches of rice value chain. Ponhrith’s background is Agricultural Economic and Rural Development, and he has strong experiences in Fishery Management, Agribusiness and Value Chain, and Social Protection. His career journey began from rural community volunteer in 2009 then UN Youth Advisory Panel in Cambodia for few years to lead and bring the voice of community especially women and youth to the development. Building on his education background and practical experiences, he has developed his professional career to be an expertise in resilient rural livelihoods. With his leadership skills and commitment, he always brings achievements to communities, organization, and team. His key strengths are working as a dynamic team with a common goal and clear strategy. He thrived on leading latest complex projects including a million dollar grant on inclusive and sustainable fisheries and livelihoods as well as rice value chain project to increase incomes and life improvement for thousands of smallholder farmers and cooperatives to reach fair trade and win-win market solution.
