Juliana Han Witt

Juliana Han Witt has more than 15 years of experience in the nonprofit sector. She is currently the Deputy Director of Institutional Relations and the Broadcast Campaign at the Metropolitan Opera where she oversees foundation, corporate, and government fundraising efforts, as well as fundraising for the Met’s Saturday Matinee Radio Broadcasts. Prior to joining the Met, Juliana worked in similar roles at National Dance Institute (NDI) and the Studio Museum in Harlem. At NDI, an arts education organization which brings dance programs to New York City public school students, Juliana brought in nearly one-third of the organizational budget in increased institutional funding, cultivating several new supporters, as well as larger gifts from current donors. At the Studio Museum, which provides a platform for contemporary black artists, Juliana worked on a $175 million capital campaign, as well as doubling the support brought in through institutional giving. Juliana was also formerly Director of Education at The Little Orchestra Society, a professional orchestra, where she supervised the day-to-day operations of three community engagement and music education programs serving the New York City community, including curriculum design, professional development, teaching artist training, and program assessment and evaluation. At Manhattan School of Music, Juliana designed curriculum and trained teaching artists in reaching K-12 students locally, nationally, and internationally through the use of interactive telepresence technologies, and gained administrative, artistic programming, and production experience through stints at The Juilliard School and the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center. Juliana began her career as a classroom music teacher, and has also worked as a professional teaching artist. Juliana earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Music from Smith College, and is a pianist, clarinetist, singer, composer, and conductor.
