Donald Curtis

Donald Curtis has been working in the nonprofit sector for more than 10 years. He holds a B.S. in Business Administration, Marketing from the University of Tennessee, Chattanooga and a M.A. in Strategic Communication from American University. He completed his Executive Education in Innovation Management at the University of Maryland, College Park and Nonprofit Management program via Northwestern University and the Allstate Foundation. In 2019, he was 1 of 25 US emerging leaders selected for the AMEX Ashoka Emerging Innovators Bootcamp. Donald has a passion for youth development and has worked to empower youth since 2005. Prior to founding SOUL, a nonprofit that empowers low-income student-athletes in three US cities, he worked with a variety of youth centered service providers. This includes youth rehabilitation, mental health facilities, foster care services, also within the Maryland and DC public school systems. In addition, Donald served as a Faculty/Staff Advisor for several minority student clubs and organization at American University (Washington DC), where have developed and oversaw short term community engagement/volunteer programs for the campus community.
