Caroline Gonzalez Scott is Senior Director of Regional Leadership Development at Leadership for Educational Equity (LEE). In this capacity she manages a team that designs programs that develop leaders to build the individual and collective skills needed to eradicate the injustice of educational inequity through public and civic leadership. Prior to joining LEE, Caroline served as Associate Director of Leadership Programs at the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute (CHCI), where she oversaw the management and development of CHCI’s Public Policy and Graduate Fellowship Programs, seeking to enhance participants' leadership abilities, strengthen professional skills and produce more experienced and competitive Latino professionals for the public and private sectors. Caroline also worked with Reading Is Fundamental, where she developed and facilitated programs on literacy development, family literacy and engagement, and school-community partnerships for schools and community organizations across the country. A native of California and daughter of immigrants from Uruguay, Caroline is also a former teacher, having taught Spanish and ELL at Garnet Patterson Middle School in Washington, DC. Caroline is a graduate of American University and George Washington University’s Graduate School of Education and Human Development.
