Amanda Brooks

Amanda L. Brooks has been at Milwaukee Area Technical College for 5 years. She currently works as the Coordinator of Student Life, MATC Downtown Campus. She attended Florida A&M University (FAMU) in Tallahassee, FL; majoring in Public Administration. She later earned her Masters of Business Administration from Cardinal Stritch University. Attending an HBCU is what sparked in her a strong passion for working with students of color, helping them to find and attain higher education and critical life skills that will afford them success. As the Coordinator of Student Life, she oversees all the Student Organizations, Student Activities, Student Development Programming and the Men of Color Initiative. Amanda strives to create programming that promotes education, social, cultural, leadership and services. A Milwaukee native, Amanda started her fight for social justice at an early age as she served as the first Chair of Milwaukee Inner-City Congregations Allied for Hope (MICHA) youth council. Since her early days of fighting the injustices within the city, Amanda has continued working with the Milwaukee Branch of the NAACP and other local organizations. She is also a Campaign for Black Male Achievement (CBMA) American Express Leadership Academy Fellow. The CBMA is a national network of leaders and organizations committed to building communities for black men and boys to achieve their fullest potential. Her current mission is to help others understand, and act upon, their individual Social Responsibility. Through this mission, she contributes to building inclusive, tolerant, and loving individuals, families, and communities.
