Kevin Hinton

Kevin Hinton is CEO/Executive Director of Beacon House, an afterschool education and youth development nonprofit organization that serves children and families in Northeast Washington, DC.  Beacon House’s Board of Directors appointed Kevin Hinton as CEO/Executive Director in February 2017 following a successful five-month stint as Interim Executive Director.  

Kevin, prior to joining Beacon House, served on the leadership team at DC Public Education Fund, the not-for-profit organization that raises and manages private funds to support innovation in DC Public Schools.  Kevin has also held management positions in organizations including Washingtonpost.Newsweek Interactive and Discovery Education.
  
Kevin is active in alumni affairs at his graduate alma mater, NYU Stern School of Business.  He has served as a semi-final round judge and coach in both the Traditional Venture and Social Venture tracks of NYU Stern's annual “Entrepreneurs Challenge” business plan competition. 

Kevin holds an MBA degree from NYU Stern School of Business and a BA from Williams College. He is also a graduate of Little Rock Central High School, site of the 1957 desegregation crisis in Little Rock, Arkansas.
