Dr. Joyvin Benton is the Director of Development at the Winthrop Rockefeller Institute where she is creating the Institute’s first development program, leveraging a 100 million dollar endowment. Prior to working at the Institute, she was the Development Director at the Arkansas Public Policy Panel where she expanded the fundraising committee to include more community volunteers and implemented several new fundraising strategies resulting in increased individual monthly and annual giving. She has a Master’s in Psychology from San Diego State and a PhD in Urban Systems from Rutgers University. Joyvin has a passion for building equitable spaces. She believes in collaboration and collective dialogues and thinks both are essential to building a sustainable nonprofit infrastructure in the state. In 2017, she was named one of the top 20 emerging nonprofit leaders by the Little Rock Young Nonprofit Professionals Network and in 2018 she had the honor of being one of twelve emerging leaders, from across the country selected for the Independent Sector, Next Generation Fellowship. This fellowship provided her with greater insight into the nonprofit and philanthropic sectors, increased her leadership skills, expanded her network, and increased opportunities to collaborate and work with people and organizations across the sector.
