Peter Borenstein is a native Angeleno, attorney and the founder of Restorative Justice Fund (RJFund), a nonprofit justice reform incubator. RJFund advocates for, designs and deploys innovative interventions at every level of the criminal justice system to make it more equitable, effective and cost-efficient. Before starting RJFund, Peter consulted with the Los Angeles CIty Attorney’s Office to design the largest pre-charge diversion for low-level adult offenders in the country, the Neighborhood Justice Program. Prior to embarking on his legal career, Peter was an outdoor educator with Outward Bound and led wilderness expeditions for teenagers in Australia, New York, and Maine. Peter received his J.D. from Loyola Law School, Los Angeles and his undergraduate degree from the Gallatin School of Individualized Study at New York University.
