Sungyeon (Daniel) Park is a researcher at the Korea Institute for Rural Development and a member of the American Express Global Network Sub-Committee since August 2019. Currently, he works for project management in the area of agriculture and rural development by creating knowledge and technologies and sharing Korea's development experience with developing countries. Previously, he worked for ICT and Disaster Risk Reduction Section at the UN in Thailand, Official Development Assistance(ODA) consulting firm in Korea and a Korean nonprofit organization managing a rural development project in Myanmar. He is also an alumnus of the Amani Institute’s Social Innovation Management Program during which he worked with a nonprofit organization focusing on enhancing farmer's capacity and rural development in India. He received a Bachelor’s Degree in Development Studies in Lund, Sweden, and a Master’s Degree in International Economic Studies in Paris, France. His interests range from poverty, inequality, social protection and agriculture to sustainable development. He is interested in project management, leadership skills, and social innovation.
