Njeri Muturi is currently working at the United Nations’ Department of Social and Economic Affairs - Division of Sustainable Department. Recently, she was awarded by the American Council on Education Women’s Network for the being an emerging woman leader in higher education in Connecticut State. Njeri has more than eight years of experience working on social development issues of the 21st century at local, national and international level. She has worked in organizations such as the Aga Khan Foundation, Amref Health Africa, Volunteer Service Oversees, and Points of Light Foundation. Additionally, she has worked on projects funded by the European Union, DFID, written grants and raised funds. Njeri holds a Bachelor degree in Social Work and Criminology and a Masters Degree in Public and International Affairs. She is an alumna fellow of Atlas Corps, American Express Leadership Academy and Starting Bloc. She has been at the forefront in championing for human rights and public policy implementation especially in Africa, while ensuring that all actions are integrated towards achieving sustainable development goals. Njeri has a passion for volunteering and enjoys reading and playing tennis. She enjoys social gatherings and meeting new people.
