Nitiya Walker is a social entrepreneur and media professional. She was awarded the 2018 Educational Leadership Award from State Senator Kevin S. Parker and the 2018 Clinton Global Imitative University Alumni Honor Roll. She was also 2016 Semi Finalist for the Forbes 30 Under 30 Change the World Competition, and invited to attend the 2016 White House United State of Women Summit. Upon graduating from Babson College, she was selected to participate in the competitive Viacom Summer Associates career, where she went on to launch her career working such prominent events such as the BET Awards. Nitiya is passionate about economic empowerment for women and is the Executive Director and Founder of Seeds of Fortune Inc., in which she helps minority teen girls apply for college scholarships, teach career and financial management skills. She believed it was her duty to help ease the financial burdens of those in her generation; therefore, she created a scholarship program to help teen girls obtain local and national scholarships called Seeds of Fortune Inc. and a blog Walker Finance and Media, highlighting successful entrepreneurs, influencers, financial tips and the intersection between media and business. In addition to her nonprofit organization, she has worked on the Girls Scouts of Greater NY Future Woman of Distinction Scholarship Committee, Speech Coach for the Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Incorporated teen program and has spoken at The Opportunity Network, Viacom Careers and Barnard STEP program. She was the 2017-2018 Millennial Committee Chair for the National Association for Minorities in Communications of NYC and currently is an American Express and Clinton Global Initiative Ambassador.
