Krista Purnell

Krista Purnell is school leadership teams through the change management process, manages district relationships to support expansion, and facilitates professional development. She also serves on the organization’s DEI Steering Committee. Krista has nearly a decade of experience in nonprofits after eight years of teaching and coaching in schools. Prior to her work at T.L.P., Krista was a Managing Director of Program at Citizen Schools, a national nonprofit providing Expanded Learning Time opportunities for students. There, she supported school-based teams in Newark, Brooklyn, and the Bronx. Krista also served as a Staff Developer at New Heights Academy and as a middle school math teacher at North Star Academy and Dr. MLK Jr. Elementary School in Newark, NJ. She is an alumna of Teach for America and holds an MA in Educational Leadership from Montclair State University and a BA in Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
