Jillian Gedeon

Jillian Gedeon is the co-founder and Executive Director of the International Youth Alliance for Family Planning (IYAFP), an organization dedicated to the empowerment of young people, girls and women via family planning advocacy. Her passion for science, reproductive health and research coupled with her ability to connect with youth has led her to mentor, train and educate young people in her community, in Northern Ontario and Nunavut, as well as in Thailand. She has also played leading roles in empowerment programs, social enterprise ventures and disease prevention programs in Zambia, Ethiopia and Indonesia. Jillian is a member of the Lebanese community, a two-time valedictorian and a World Economic Forum Global Shaper. She has a Master of Science in Interdisciplinary Health Sciences and spent a year living along the Thailand-Burma border to research and publish about migrants and refugees’ experiences with long-acting reversible contraception (LARC).
