Leaderosity, which was supported by American Express with $1 million in grants as well as by the Kresge Foundation and the Annie E. Casey Foundation, is an interactive tool featuring inaugural courses by the Presidio Institute and the Nonprofit Leadership Alliance (NLA). NLA is the only workforce development organization that certifies diverse, work-ready talent for the nonprofit sector. The first offering is a four-week intensive course for early career professionals focused on the foundational knowledge and skills necessary to launch or fast track a successful nonprofit career.
“Leaderosity provided me with practical strategies and insightful knowledge on how to create a culture that works for everyone. As a young professional, these key courses are incredibly important as I build my career and networks."
“American Express has been a visionary supporter of social impact leadership for many years. Its support of Leaderosity enables Presidio Institute to perpetuate its mission to provide transformational experiences that inspire, encourage and empower leaders to make positive impact in the world,” said David B. Smith, managing director of the Presidio Institute.
Through this partnership with the Presidio Institute, American Express hopes to scale the number of professionals they can help train through world-class, high-impact online curricula.
Leaderosity can be tailored to each participant’s preference and pace, and allows participants to work through the course at their convenience. The courses also include peer to peer interaction, helping participants challenge themselves – and others – to become more adaptable and collaborative leaders. These interactions provide the opportunity to build lasting, local, national and international relationships through an interconnected community of like-minded network builders.
“Leaderosity provided me with practical strategies and insightful knowledge on how to create a culture that works for everyone,” said Ivellisse Morales, nonprofit professional and participant in the Leaderosity pilot program. “As a young professional, these key courses are incredibly important as I build my career and networks. Leaderosity is also accessible and affordable, which makes it a recommended go-to professional development resource for individuals working in the social sector.”
