Njeri Muturi is a writing consultant and a student at the Tutoring and Learning Center, University of Bridgeport. She has more than eight years of experience working in social development at a grassroot level, mostly on community driven projects that empower the poor to remain resilient and accountable, while leveraging on opportunities and interventions at hand to promote peace and economic growth. More recently, Njeri worked at Points of Light in New York as a Curriculum Developer. Her career began at the Aga Khan Foundation-Kenya as a project officer where she grew the company's network by 70%. Since then, she has worked nationally and international with organizations such as Amref Health Kenya, Volunteer Service Overseas, Ghana, and St John’s School and College, UK. Njeri has worked on projects funded by the European Union, DFID, raised funds, and enhanced partnerships with Action Aid, Amnesty International, and UNICEF among other organizations. Njeri is an alumna fellow of American Express Leadership Academy, Atlas Corps, and Starting Bloc. She has been at the forefront in championing for human rights and public policy implementation especially in Africa, and continues to engage with United Nations, Nexus global community, Women in Foreign Policy Network, and other organizations in working towards addressing the issues of the 21st century. She has earned a degree in Social Work and Criminology and continues to further her education in Global Development and Peace at the College of Public and International Affairs.
