Desiree C. Hernandez Sanchez serves as Vice President, General Counsel, and Secretary of the United Negro College Fund (UNCF). As a member of the Leadership Team, she contributes to the strategic development and implementation of the nation’s largest and most effective minority education organization. Desireé’s multifaceted practice includes probate intellectual property, contracts, insurance, governance, corporate, labor/employment, compliance, and non-profit law. Her probate background enhances management of UNCF’s Legacy Portfolio (testamentary gifts). Her efforts have helped realize over $102.7 million in revenue during her 15-year tenure. A leader in organizational governance, Desireé has a primary role in ensuring that fiduciary responsibilities of the Board, Members, and organization are met. She is currently leading an effort to examine and re-align the organization with the best governing practices.

Desireé earned her Juris Doctorate and Bachelor’s Degrees from Howard University in Washington, DC. She is barred in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, the U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Pennsylvania and the U.S. Supreme Court.
